Cruz hit for a .366 average while collecting 59 hits, 11 doubles, 1 triple, 12 home runs, 57 RBIs and scoring 37 times.

 | Schmidt EL Selection for 2044 Outstanding Hitter Award
Monday, May 30th, 2044: Daryl Schmidt of the Ridgewood HS Maroons had a fine season this year and today he accepted the Outstanding Hitter Award for 2044.
The 18-year-old center fielder put up a .387 average and a .464 on-base percentage, piling up 60 hits, 13 doubles, 1 triple, 17 home runs, 45 RBIs and 48 runs scored.

Sunday, May 29th, 2044: 18-year-old Ben Gardner of the Fremont HS Pathfinders put together a good year in 2044 for such a young player. Gardner was named today as the winner of the Western League Outstanding Pitcher Award.
Gardner crafted an impressive 6-1 record and a 2.82 ERA. In 51 innings he allowed 48 hits, struck out 79, and walked 9.
